Collin Smith

Collin M. Smith is an associate at Rock Fusco & Connelly specializing in civil rights litigation matters. Collin represents individuals and governmental entities in civil rights litigation matters, drawing on his more than 12 years of combined service and counsel to numerous federal, state, and county governmental agencies and public servants.
Prior to joining Rock Fusco & Connelly, Collin served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice: Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he counseled the BOP and its officers regarding civil rights and tort litigation. Collin began his legal career clerking for two appellate courts: the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (Staff Attorney), and the Supreme Court of Georgia (former Chief Justice Michael P. Boggs).
Collin earned his J.D., Summa Cum Laude and Order of the Coif, from the DePaul University College of Law in 2017. He earned his B.A. in History from Aurora University in 2008, where he was a captain of his NCAA Div. III football team and a first team All North Region offensive lineman. Prior to attending law school, Collin served as an Adult Parole/Probation Officer with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, and as a Juvenile Detention Officer for the Lake County, Illinois Department of Juvenile Detention/Probation Services.
