David L. Miller represents various private and public employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law. As a trusted counselor, Mr. Miller assists clients to develop creative, cost-effective solutions to workplace issues involving employees or unions. When litigation is necessary, Mr. Miller defends employers before administrative agencies and courts. He has obtained jury verdicts in favor of his clients in cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Recent issues addressed by Mr. Miller include drafting and enforcing non-compete agreements, shareholder disputes, discrimination claims, negotiating union contracts, overtime pay class actions, pension fund claims for contributions, withdrawal liability and OSHA investigations.

An accomplished speaker and writer, Mr. Miller’s publications include: “New Challenges and Opportunities for Employer Leave of Absence Programs” (Illinois State Bar Journal March, 2009); “The Purchase, Sale, Relocation, or Shutdown of a Business,” The Labor Law Handbook, Illinois Institute of Continuing Education (Co-author); Reasonable Accommodation Under the Americans with Disabilities Act,” Gonzaga University Law Review, Vol. 28 No.2 (Co-author) (Spring 1993); “The Americans With Disabilities Act: A New Challenge for Employers,” The Tort and Insurance Law Journal, Vol. 27 No. 1 (Co-author) (Fall 1991). Mr. Miller has also been named an Illinois Super Lawyer in Labor & Employment Law by Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine (2008 – 2015, 2017 – 2019).
